Wafer Polishing Engineer

We are looking for a Wafer Polishing Engineer for the development and control of Semiconductor Substrate Processing.

Key Responsibilities

Familiar with and /or willingness to learn and perform as necessary all required tasks.
Development, process optimization and control of lapping, edge grinding, polishing, and CMP of semiconductor wafers.
X-ray orientation of crystals and optimization of slicing techniques.
Use of metrology tools for characterizing of wafer attributes and quality.
Design of experiments and statistical process control. Prepare formal documentation and test reports.
Qualify new processes and consumables. Work with vendors to develop cost effective polishing solutions.
Develop maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for tools and equipment.
Establish standard operation procedures (SOP) and quality documents.
Train operators and technicians on new procedures.

Experience/Requirements

BS degree in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering or related engineering field, MS degree is a plus.
0-2 years of relevant industry experience. Hands-on experience related to slicing, grinding and polishing processes (semiconductors or other hard materials) is preferred. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Familiarity with epitaxial growth and characterization techniques preferred.
The ideal candidate is familiar with x-ray methods for crystal orientation and advanced metrology methods -AFM, optical interferometry etc.
Self-starter, highly motivated, able to manage multiple projects.
Excellent written and oral communication required
Access or other database familiarity desired
Able to work flexible hours, as needed
Valid working permit for the US required
